What is an Obesity Management program?
Nowadays obesity is a major health concern because it affects from childhood to old age at any stage of life.
For the majority of people reducing weight is difficult, and maintaining weight loss is even more challenging. Most people who lose a significant amount of weight regain it two to three years later or immediately when they stop following the diet plans.
Rapid or fast weight loss can create serious health problems due to malnutrition like headaches, fatigue, irritability, constipation, hair loss, menstrual irregularities in females, and electrolyte imbalances.
As one of the risk factors for heart disease, obesity was researched together during our 16-year mission to reverse heart disease.
We studied thoroughly the difficulties patients encountered when trying to lose or maintain weight.
Hence, we designed a healthy weight loss program for reducing and maintaining a healthy weight lifelong i.e., our Obesity Management program.
Obesity management program is based on standards of modern science & Ayurveda principles.
What is Obesity?
Overweight and obesity are described as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. For the Asian population, a body mass index (BMI) over 23 is considered overweight, and over 25 is obese – WHO (World health organization)
As Compared with the National Family Health Survey of India -4, the prevalence of overweight or obesity has increased in most States in India. At the national level, it increased from 21% to 24% among women and 19% to 23% among men.
The body mass index (BMI) is a calculation that analyses your height and weight to assess/ measure whether your weight is healthy or unhealthy (Overweight/ obese).
People who are overweight or obese have a higher risk of several major diseases and health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, blockages, heart disease, joint problems – osteoarthritis, snoring and breathing problems, many types of cancers, low quality of life, depression and other mental disorders.
