81 clinicians present real-world cases on diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease, with discussions focused on preventive cardiology, Ayurveda-based interventions and long-term cardiovascular care
Mumbai, September 2026: Madhavbaug (Vaidya Sane Ayurved Laboratories Limited) marked World Heart Day with the 6th International Ayurvedic Cardiology Symposium 2026, bringing together clinicians, academicians and healthcare professionals from India and overseas for three days of case presentations, scientific discussions and multidisciplinary knowledge exchange.
Held from 25th to 27th September 2026, the symposium explored structured, preventive and long-term approaches to cardiovascular and metabolic health.
The scientific programme featured 81 Madhavbaug clinicians, supported by 28 senior moderators and academicians, presenting real-world cases involving coronary artery disease (CAD), diabetes, hypertension, obesity and other lifestyle-related conditions. 17 clinicians were recognised as Best Presenters for their clinical documentation and presentations.
Focus on Prevention and Long-Term Cardiovascular Care
A key theme was reversal-focused clinical care in chronic cardiovascular and metabolic conditions. Presentations covered clinical experiences related to diabetes, hypertension and CAD, including patient assessment, lifestyle modification, treatment approaches, monitoring and follow-up.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of distinguishing individual clinical experiences from evidence that can be generalised to larger populations. Speakers emphasised systematic documentation, measurable outcomes, long-term follow-up and the need for larger prospective studies.
The symposium explored how Ayurveda-based interventions, Panchakarma, therapeutic nutrition, physical activity, stress management, patient education and regular monitoring may be incorporated into structured chronic disease-management programmes.
Experts Highlight Preventive Cardiology
Chief Guest Dr. Chandrakant Bhagwat Chavan, Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist and Chair Professor for the Chair in Interpathy Research in Preventive Cardiology, MUHS Nashik, highlighted the importance of strengthening preventive cardiology alongside the management of established cardiovascular disease.
Guest of Honour Dr. Janardhana V. Hebbar, Founder of Easy Ayurveda, discussed the multifactorial nature of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, highlighting factors including diet, sleep, stress, sedentary lifestyle and metabolic health.
Dr. Hemant Devraj Toshikhane, Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda, Parul University, Vadodara, emphasised structured clinical evaluation, continuous training, patient follow-up and knowledge exchange.
From Clinical Experience to Stronger Evidence
The symposium’s 28 moderators represented senior academicians, clinicians, professors, principals and heads of departments, with participation spanning more than 90 Ayurvedic colleges across India, along with an international moderator from the United States.
Moderators examined investigations, clinical reasoning, treatment rationale, monitoring and long-term outcomes, encouraging clinicians to strengthen documentation and move from individual case observations towards larger cohorts and prospective research.
The event also brought together Ayurveda practitioners, MBBS doctors and healthcare professionals from other systems of medicine. International participation included professionals from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and European countries, adding a global perspective to the discussions.
Dr. Gurudatta Amin, Organizing Chairman and Chief Medical Officer, Madhavbaug, emphasised the importance of individualised chronic disease management based on each patient’s clinical condition, lifestyle, diet, physical activity and response to treatment. He also highlighted the importance of continued monitoring and follow-up after initial clinical targets are achieved.
Through the symposium, Madhavbaug brought clinical practice, academic scrutiny and research-oriented discussion onto a common platform, reinforcing the importance of preventive cardiology, metabolic health, lifestyle modification and long-term patient care.
